PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet sterilizer capable of washing the surface of a translucent window by a simple configuration and accurately detecting the ultraviolet output of an ultraviolet lamp.
SOLUTION: The ultraviolet sterilizer 1 is constituted so that a sterilization object is introduced into a treatment tank 2 to which the ultraviolet lamp 8 is inserted the sterilization object is irradiated with ultraviolet rays radiated by the ultraviolet lamp 8 and sterilized also the translucent window 41 is provided on the wall surface 2A of the treatment tank 2 an optical sensor 44 is arranged closely to the translucent window 41 from the outer side of the treatment tank 2, and the ultraviolet output of the ultraviolet lamp 8 is detected by the optical sensor 44 wherein a moving body 32 which moves along the wall surface 2A is disposed inside the treatment tank 2 and the moving body 32 is provided with a wiping body 51 for wiping the surface 41A of the translucent window 41 on the side facing the inside of the treatment tank 2, so that the surface 41A of the translucent window 41 can be cleaned.
