PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical checking apparatus and method for checking medicaments to be dispensed/packaged in a package.SOLUTION: A pharmaceutical checking apparatus includes: a conveyance passage for conveying a package in which medicaments are dispensed/packaged； a photographing unit for photographing the medicaments dispensed/packaged in the package； a decentration mechanism for spreading out the medicament dispensed/packaged in the package； and an inspection unit for auditing an agent on the basis of an image of the medicaments taken by the photographing unit. The decentration mechanism includes: a columnar body located at a second surface side of the package and disposed in a direction of traversing the package； a first pressing member located at a first surface side of the package, disposed at a conveyance-direction upstream side with respect to the columnar body, and pressing the first surface of the package； and a second pressing member disposed at a conveyance-direction downstream side with respect to the columnar body and pressing the first surface of the package.
