PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel locking device of a wheelchair which can be used without fear because its movement does not change with the ages once it is attached to the wheelchair and which exhibits a high reliability because it directly locks the wheel.SOLUTION: The wheel locking device of the wheelchair includes a disk 4 which is fixed to the wheel 3 and in which engaging holes 8 are annularly arranged and a device body 2 whose braking pin 16 is engaged in and disengaged from one of the engaging holes 8 and which locks the wheel 3 when it is engaged. The device body 2 includes a supporting member 10 which is fixed to a frame 1 of the wheelchair A, a turning member 13 which turns vertically in conjunction with vertical movement of the seat 6 and an operating member 15 which moves vertically in conjunction with the turning member 13. The operating member 15 is provided with the braking pin 16 and a roller 20 which is engaged in an engaging part 21 provided in a predetermined position of the supporting member 10.
