PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create a plant expressing resistance to at least one disease damage. SOLUTION: The plant contains thionine gene and a method for creating the plant includes a process for constituting an expression vector containing an expression cassette for expressing thionine, a process for transforming cells with the expression vector and a process for regenerating the plant from the transformed cells. The plant created by the method expresses resistance to at least one disease damage out of disease damages caused by plant pathogenic bacteria such as Xanthomonas oryzae, Burkholderia plantarii or the like or plant pathogenic molds such as Magnaporthe grisea or the like.
