PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cranberry extract richly containing proanthocyanidin A type, having no uncomfortable taste such as bitterness and astringent taste by not containing a large amount of fat soluble ingredients, and applicable for food.

SOLUTION: A method for producing the cranberry extract includes: adding 3-5 pts.wt. water to 1 pt.wt. of cranberry fruit skin or cranberry pomace, and heating the product followed by extracting at 80-90°C for 2-5 h. As a result of this, it is possible to obtain the cranberry extract which contains a lot of monosaccharide with proanthocyanidin A type so as to have excellent flavor, and has no uncomfortable taste such as bitterness and astringent taste by not containing a large amount of fat soluble components.
