An intraluminal device and method of fixation of an intraluminal device having a body in a mammalian lumen or hollow organ that experiences peristalsis includes a fixation system that is adapted to resist distal migration of the body in the lumen or hollow organ. The intraluminal device body has a wall defining a surface, the wall surface is configured to the size and shape of the lumen or hollow organ. The fixation system includes at least one fastener joined with the wall and having a tissue-capturing state and a non-tissue-capturing state and at least one filament.
