The present invention relates to a thermosensitizer composition for electromagnetic wave-based hyperthermia and use of the same to treat cancer, which, more specifically, relates to the thermosensitizer composition that increases sensitivity using electromagnetic wave in cancer treatment, and to a method for treating cancer using the composition. When injected into the body, the thermosensitizer composition for electromagnetic wave-based hyperthermic treatment of cancer according to the present invention targets cancer cells and selectively transfers metallic ions to targeted cancer cells, and thus increases heat generated in the cancer cells having metallic ions accumulated and maximizes the effect of cancer treatment in the hyperthermic treatment of cancer using electromagnetic wave.
