The CPU determines a color according to an amplitude of the echo signal (S19 and S21). The CPU creates a first image indicating the echo signal in the determined color (S23). The CPU outputs image signals indicating an RGB value of each of a plurality of pixels constituting a created diagnostic image in an optical see-through type head display (S25). The CPU determines one of colors corresponding to a first amplitude and an amplitude 0 to be a first color specified from first luminosity.
