Disclosed crystalline form 6 of (S)-2-{ [(2R,3R,4R,SR)-S-(2,4-dioxo-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyrimidin-1-yl)-4-fluoro-3-hydroxy-4-methyltetrahydrofuran-2-ylmethoxy]-phenoxyphosphorylamino} -propionic acid isopropyl ester (sofosbuvir) having XRPD 2theta reflections (±0.2°) at 6.08, 8.2, 10.38, 10.85, 12.17, 12.7, 13.73, 14.1, 15.91, 16.83, 17.17, 17.66, 17.95, 18.79, 19.1, 19.41, 19.8, 20.11, 20.82, 21.81, 22.03, 23.03, 23.26, 23.64, 23.89 and 24.73 and which is obtainable by the recrystallisation of sofosbuvir from water. Also disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition which comprises crystalline form 6 of sofosbuvir and a pharmaceutically acceptable medium, optionally in combination with one or more antiviral agents, such as a combination of a HCV NS3 protease inhibitor and a HCV NS5A inhibitor.
