The present utility model discloses a method for preparing blood product that can be used in food. The method makes a blood product to have longer shelf-life thus increasing the marketability of animal blood. The steps include: providing of edible animal blood heating of edible animal blood adding of anticoagulant into the edible animal blood resulting into a blood mixture adding of encapsulant into said mixture and spray-drying of the mixture to obtain a spray-dried blood food product.
