PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article effectively preventing comfort from being reduced when a contact state between a body and an absorbent body is deteriorated due to urination.SOLUTION: This absorbent article includes: an absorbent body including an absorber absorbing body fluid and an outer body integrally provided on the outer face side of the absorbent body. In the absorbent article including a waist opening part and a pair of right and left leg peripheral parts formed by joining a belly side part and a back side part in the outer body in joining parts of both the side ends thereof, a water-absorbing shrinkable material having water-absorbing shrinking characteristics that shrinks by contact with the body fluid is disposed from the belly side part to the back side part of the absorbent body along the long direction. The absorbent body is firmly fixed throughout the outer body while interposing the water-absorbing shrinkable material between the absorber and the outer body.
