PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for using a selective ETreceptor antagonist for enhancing blood sugar management and/or insulin sensitivity in a human object suffering from diabetic nephropathy and/or metabolic syndrome.SOLUTION: The selective ETreceptor antagonist is used in combination with (a) at least one additional medicine which is (i) other than the selective ETreceptor antagonist and (ii) effective in treatment for diabetes and/or at least one of the comorbidities thereof other than hypertension and, if required, (b) at least one antihypertensive other than the selective ETreceptor antagonist, or used for administration as an auxiliary therapy therewith.
