PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide adjunctive therapy methods for type II diabetes of which glycemic control is insufficient in the anti-diabetes therapy.SOLUTION: Provided is a method of a combinational treatment for type II diabetes comprising administering to a subject in need thereof: a) at least one antidiabetic agent, and b) a therapeutically effective amount of diacerein or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, an analog, a prodrug or an active metabolite thereof. Also provided is an adjunctive treatment method for type II diabetes, which may allow improving glycemic control of type II diabetes patients and/or reducing side effects and/or cardiovascular risks of antidiabetic agents. The antidiabetic agents is at least one agent selected from sulfonylurea, biguanides, &alpha；-glucosidase inhibitors, a peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor agonist, a glucagon-like peptide-1 analog, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor, a non-sulfonylurea insulin secretagogues and insulin.SELECTED DRAWING: None【課題】抗糖尿病療法で血糖コントロールが不十分なII型糖尿病の補助治療方法の提供。【解決手段】a)少なくとも1の抗糖尿病薬、及びb)治療的有効量のディアセレイン又は医薬的に許容される塩、又はその類似体、プロドラッグ、活性代謝物を、該治療を必要とする対象に投与するII型糖尿病の組み合わせ治療方法。II型糖尿病患者の血糖コントロールを改善し、及び／又は抗糖尿病薬の副作用、心血管リスクを減少させることもできるＩＩ型糖尿病の補助治療方法。前記抗糖尿病薬がスルホニルウレア、ビクアニド、α―グルコシダーゼ阻害剤、ペルオキシソーム増殖因子活性化レセプターアゴニスト、グルカゴン用ペプチド－１類似体、ジペプチジルペプチダーゼ－４阻害剤、非スルホニルウレアインスリン分泌促進物質又はインスリンから選ばれた少なくとも１つの薬剤である補助治療方法。【選択図】なし
