PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sphygmomanometer which can support an arm in a correct attitude and prevent measurement in an unnatural attitude when measuring blood pressure, and can be compactly stored to save a space when it is not used.SOLUTION: The sphygmomanometer 1 includes a housing 3 with an opening 4 for inserting an upper arm and an arm band 2 set around the opening 4 to form a hole for inserting the upper arm. An arm rest 7 is provided to the housing 3, and the arm rest is supported to turn with respect to the housing between a storage position to close the insertion hole and an opening position to open the insertion hole to enable the upper arm to be inserted. Operation parts 6, 42 having functions as an ON/OFF switch of a power source, a blood pressure measurement starting/stopping switch, a stored data calling/canceling switch, and a display change-over switch are installed on the upper surface 3a of the housing.
