Isotopically-labelled glycans and their synthesis and use as internal standards in the analysis by mass spectrometry of glycan mixtures is described. The methods of synthesis described herein may be used conveniently to prepare libraries of heavy glycans for use in the qualitative and quantitative identification of glycans in natural samples.L'invention concerne des glycanes marqués isotopiquement et leur synthèse et leur utilisation en tant qu'étalons internes dans l'analyse par spectrométrie en masse de mélanges de glycane.
