PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser device in which consumption of flash lamp can be reduced.SOLUTION: A laser device has a laser medium, temperature adjustment means for adjusting the temperature of the laser medium, excitation means for exciting the laser medium, control means for controlling the temperature adjustment means and excitation means, a probe for receiving an acoustic wave generated when a subject is irradiated with laser light from the laser medium, and processing means for acquiring the characteristic information of the subject by using the acoustic wave.
