PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soil modifying agent using a jellyfish suitable for growing and rearing plants as a raw material and to provide a method for modifying the soil using the same.SOLUTION: [1] The soil modifying agent is obtained by processing the jellyfish into a sheet and/or powder. [2] The soil modifying agent is described in [1] and characterized as at least one selected from the group consisting of Stomolophus nomurai, Aurelia aurita, white type jellyfish, China type jellyfish, semi-China type jellyfish, cannonball type jellyfish and ball type jellyfish.
