A wrist brace for supporting a subjects wrist, comprising a lower arm support section for circumferentially enclosing a subjects lower arm section, a hand support section for circumferentially enclosing a metacarpal section of the subjects hand, a connecting member for connecting the lower arm support section and the hand support section of the brace. The lower arm support section, the hand support section and the connecting member are formed as interconnected dimensionally stable parts having an inner surface and an outer surface, based on a model of the lower arm wrist and hand and wherein the dimensions are chosen to provide a margin between an outline of the lower arm wrist and hand of the model and an inner surface of the wrist brace.
