An ultrasonic surgical cutting method and apparatus is provided wherein the method and apparatus allows for the cutting of bone from within a hollow pathway such that a cutter associated with the ultrasonic method and apparatus remains sufficiently cool to prevent necrosis of the bone being cut. Furthermore the ultrasonic device and method can be employed in the cutting of soft tissue, wherein a cooled cutter is used to prevent the sticking of soft tissue to the cutting blade of the device during use.La présente invention concerne un procédé et un appareil de coupe chirurgicale aux ultrasons, qui permettent de couper de l’os à partir de l’intérieur d’un passage creux de manière à ce que l’élément tranchant associé au procédé et à l’appareil à ultrasons reste suffisamment froid pour empêcher la nécrose de l’os qui est coupé. En outre, ce dispositif et ce procédé aux ultrasons peuvent être employés pour couper des tissus mous, l’élément tranchant refroidi étant utilisé pour empêcher que le tissu mou ne colle à la lame tranchante du dispositif pendant son utilisation.
