PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pertussis animal model that faithfully reproduces prominent cough attack in the Bordetella pertussis infection in humans, has high convenience at an easy rate and can be used in evaluation, manufacture and research of pharmaceutical products.SOLUTION: A pertussis model animal of the present invention is provided for using a mouse having high convenience at an easy rate and faithfully reproducing prominent cough attack in the Bordetella pertussis infection in humans. By using an animal model of the present invention, it is useful for the clarification of a cough attack mechanism and the specification of an inducer of the cough attack, the screening evaluation of pharmaceutical products to the pertussis and the production of the pharmaceutical products. According to the evaluation method of the present invention, an object of an evaluable vaccine is expanded and the evaluation based on the cough attack counts directly related to the suppression of infection expansion becomes possible.SELECTED DRAWING: NoneCOPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT【課題】ヒトにおける百日咳菌感染において顕著な咳発作を忠実に再現し、安価で利便性が高く、医薬品の評価や製造、研究に用いることができる百日咳動物モデルの提供。【解決手段】本発明の百日咳モデル動物は、安価で利便性の高いマウスを用い、ヒトにおける百日咳菌感染において顕著な咳発作を忠実に再現する。本発明の動物モデルを用いることにより、咳発作メカニズムの解明や咳発作の誘発因子特定、百日咳に対する医薬品のスクリーニング評価や医薬品の製造に有用である。本発明の評価方法によれば、評価可能なワクチンの対象が拡大するとともに、感染拡大の抑制に直接関係する咳発作回数に基づく評価が可能となる。【選択図】なし
