Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft d,I-Menthol sowie optional zusätzlich I-Menthol enthaltende Mischungen, die bei Normaldruck und einer Temperatur von 20 °C und höher flüssig sind. Des Weiteren betrifft die vorliegende Erfindung Produkte, die eine solche Mischung umfassen bzw. die durch Mischen oder in Kontakt bringen einer solchen Mischung mit weiteren Bestandteilen herstellbar sind, sowie neue Verfahren zur Herstellung mentholhaltiger Produkte.A mixture (M1) comprises (wt.%): racemic d,l-menthol and optionally l-menthol (72-85)； d,l-isomenthol (7.5-20)； a first alkylene diol and optionally at least one further alkylene diol (7-11)； and further ingredients (0-2), and where the mixture is liquid at a pressure of 101325 Pa and a temperature of >；= 20[deg] C. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a product comprising the mixture (M1) and further ingredients, where the further ingredients do not contain menthol and/or isomenthol, or alkylene diol； (2) preparing (P1) the product involving preparing the mixture (M1)； and mixing or contacting the mixture with further ingredients, where the further ingredients do not contain menthol and/or isomenthol； (3) preparing the mixture (M1) involving mixing the racemic d,l-menthol and optionally the additional l-menthol with the d,l-isomenthol in an amount of 7.5-20 parts by weight (pbw), the first alkylene diol and optionally further alkylene diols in a total amount of 7-11 pbw, and the further ingredients in a total amount of 0-2 pbw； and (4) lowering the melting point of d,l-menthol that is optionally in the presence of additional l-menthol to a temperature of = 20[deg] C at a pressure of 101325 Pa involving mixing d,l-menthol that is optionally in the presence of additional l-menthol with a first alkylene diol and optionally further alkylene diols.
