A sweetener composition for sweetening food products having a reduced physiological calorie content, in the form of granules, powders or a densified form, and while including, in combination, the following ingredients: (a) at least one water-soluble or water-dispersible dietary fiber, selected from dextrins, in an amount of from 20 to 95% by weight, based on the total weight of the sweetening composition； and (b) at least one sweetener selected from the group of aspartame, acesulfame, saccharin, cyclamate, stevioside and sucralose and mixtures of the above substances, in an amount of from 0.01 to 70 wt.% of the total weight of the sweetener composition； the ratio of dietary fiber (a) to sweetener (b) is from 30: 1 to 5: 1； while the weight sweetening ability of the sweetening composition corresponds to 1 to 70 times the sweetening ability of sucrose； while the physiological caloric content of the sweetening composition is from 0, 5 to 10 kcal / g； while the sweetener composition has a total residual moisture content of from 0.5 to 5% of the total weight of the sweetener composition.
