The assembly (10) has an intubation probe to be positioned in a tear duct, where a part of the probe is in the form of a tube (9) made from a flexible, biocompatible material. A wire (7) made from a flexible material is joined to the probe. The probe is pulled to be moved into a position in the tear duct in which an end section (16) of the wire extends inside the tube probe through an opening (22), where a transition between the wire and the tube probe is formed to be continuous, without any sharp edge, during the displacement of the probe pulled by the wire.
