PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock device which can be operated only by a single hand, can easily be handled, is strong and stable, and can maintain sure operations for a long period. SOLUTION: This lock device comprising the first blade plate 1 and the second blade plate 3 which are rotatably supported on a support shaft 5 is characterized by mounting a lock lever 7 having an approximately U-shaped cross section to stride the outer peripheral edge of either one of a pair of the blade plates, passing a support shaft 10 through the tip portions of the leg portions 7a, 7b of the lock lever 7 in a state that the lock lever can be rotated in a constant range to project a portion of the lock lever 7 from the rotation locus of the other blade plate 3, and engaging the portion of the lock lever 7 with a portion of the second blade plate within the rotation range of the lock lever to maintain the closed state of a pair of the blade plates. A portion projected from the outer periphery of the first blade plate as an operation portion 11 of the lock lever is operated by a finger of a hand gripping the pruning scissors to engage or disengage the lock.
