PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the influence of the electromagnetic noise from a light source on an optical sensor when photo-acoustic measurement is conducted.SOLUTION: A subject information acquisition apparatus includes: a light source a light source unit in which a driving circuit for driving the light source is provided a probe for converting an acoustic wave generated from the subject by receiving light irradiation emitted from a light source into an electric signal a light detecting means for detecting the light emitted from the light source to generate a trigger signal a controller for receiving the trigger signal from the light detecting means and the electric signal from the probe to generate characteristic information inside the subject and a housing for shielding an electromagnetic noise generated from the light source unit.
