The present invention relates to a lithium silicate low-temperature quartz glass ceramic that is characterized by a combination of very good mechanical and optical properties and can therefore be used in particular as a restorative material in dentistry. The lithium silicate-low temperature type quartz glass ceramic according to the present invention is characterized in that it contains lithium silicate as a main crystal phase and low temperature type quartz as a further crystal phase. Surprisingly, it has been shown that the glass-ceramic according to the present invention combines a combination of highly desirable mechanical and optical properties that is exactly what is needed for restorative dental materials.本発明は、非常に良好な機械的および光学的特性の組合せによって特徴付けられ、そのため、特に、歯科学における修復材料として使用され得る、ケイ酸リチウム低温型石英ガラスセラミックに関する。本発明によるケイ酸リチウム－低温型石英ガラスセラミックは、主な結晶相としてのケイ酸リチウムと、さらなる結晶相としての低温型石英とを含むことを特徴とする。驚くべきことに、本発明によるガラスセラミックは、修復歯科用材料にとってまさに必要であるような、非常に望ましい機械的および光学的特性の組合せを併せ持つことが示された。
