PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cationic surfactant suitable for use in liquid cosmetics or the like, an anionic surfactant/cationic surfactant mixed composition, and hair cosmetics.SOLUTION: For example, diglycerylmethyllaurylammonium chloride is a quaternary ammonium salt modified with a highly hydrophilic glycerine group and, even in a case that it is mixed with water to be formed into an aqueous solution state, it forms a vesicle along with an anionic surfactant to be combined to become a surfactant capable of suppressing the formation of a precipitate or the like due to an insoluble salt over a long period of time inclusive of a case combined with the almost equimolar anionic surfactant equal in the number of carbon atoms, excellent in transparency and imparting dampness and smoothness.
