PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a pixel omission from occurring due to the spreading of an interval of a spiral scanning locus of a scanning light wider than a target value.SOLUTION: A calibration method of a scanning type endoscope system includes: a step of performing a spiral optical scanning by driving an actuator by control means based on a scanning parameter a step of detecting the spiral optical scanning locus by scanning locus detection means and an adjustment step of adjusting a scanning parameter by control means so that a spiral optical scanning locus detected by the scanning locus detection means approximately matches a target locus.
