Thin film devices implantable within a human subject for occlusion of ananeurysm or body vessel are provided. The devices are movable from anelongated, collapsed configuration for delivery to a deployed configurationwithin the body. Such an occlusion device includes a thin film mesh attachedto a carrying frame. The carrying frame is moveable between a collapsedconfiguration and an expanded configuration. The thin film mesh can include aplurality of slits, slots and/or pores that typically vary in degree ofopenness as the carrying frame moves between the collapsed and the expandedconfigurations. The occlusion device is positioned within a blood vessel sothat the thin film mesh substantially reduces or completely blocks blood flowto a diseased portion of a blood vessel.
