PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wild animal detection device capable of detecting the appearance of a wild animal. A wild animal detection device communicates with a motion sensor that detects a moving object, a camera that photographs the surroundings, and a remote communication device via a communication network in an operating state, and consumes less power than the operating state. It is equipped with a communication module that can be switched to, a control unit that receives a detection signal from the motion sensor, and a battery that supplies power to the motion sensor, camera, communication module, and control unit. The control unit detects from the motion sensor. When the signal is received, shooting by the camera is started, it is determined by image identification processing whether or not the captured image by the camera contains wild animals, and when it is determined that the captured image contains wild animals, the communication module is used. From the standby state to the operating state, the communication module transmits wild animal detection report data to the communication device.
