The upper mouth guard includes a molded body having a first portion configured to cover six or fewer upper teeth of the patient including at least upper central incisors of the patient and a second portion configured to contact mucosal tissue of the patient located behind the incisors. The lower mouth guard includes a molded body having a first portion configured to cover six or fewer lower teeth of the patient including at least lower central incisors of the patient and a second portion configured to contact mucosal tissue of the patient's mouth located behind the incisors.
