PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent sheet which has such absorption performance as to rapidly absorb and keep an object to be absorbed therein even though the object has high viscosity, and also has superior biodegradability, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: The absorbent sheet is provided with an absorbing layer 3 formed of a nonwoven fabric which is obtained by heat-treating an air-laid web formed by stacking a first web formed of a first raw material fiber and a second web formed of a second raw material fiber. The first raw material fiber contains 2.5% to 50% of a thermally adhesive fiber that is selected from a thermally adhesive fiber (x1) made of resin (A) selected from polybutylene succinate and the like, and a thermally adhesive fiber (x2) made of resin (B) selected from polylactic acid and the like and the resin (A), 0.15% to 95% of a specific average fiber that is made of the resin (B) and has a hollow part, 50% or more of polyvinyl alcohol resin with respect to the content of the thermally adhesive fiber, and 0% or more and less than 5% of a cellulose fiber. The second raw material fiber contains 2.5% to 50% of the thermally adhesive fiber and 2.5% to 95% of a cellulose fiber.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
