The washable and reusable diaper type device comprises two parts: • An outer, washable and reusable set, having a vertical axis of symmetry, consisting of an outer envelope (1) of permeable, flexible and extensible fabric, X-shaped containing fins provided with self-gripping strips (1b) allowing ventral closure (1a). On the inner side of this element is sewn a pocket (2) made with a folded rectangle of waterproof fabric. The impervious face of this pocket (2) is located inside and extends outside in the form of gutters to allow the passage or not (2b) of the side elastics (2a). The pocket (2) is fixedly attached at its four ends (2c) to the outer casing (1) and will accommodate an absorbent insert (3). The width and the length of the outer envelope (1) are greater than that of the impermeable pocket (2). • An insert (3), absorbent fabric, washable and reusable, will be positioned in the pocket (2) after folding in half lengthwise. The size of the latter is smaller than the inner surface of the pocket.
