Pharmaceutical compositions and health functional foods compositions for the improvement of liver functions containing the extract of Youngia denticulata, fraction of thereof or compound isolated therefrom as an active ingredient
The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing cancer or improving liver function, containing Youngia denticulata extract, a fraction thereof, or one or more compounds as an active ingredient selected from a group consisting of chlorogenic acid, 3,5-di-O-caffeoylquinic acid, Youngiaside A, Youngiaside B, and Youngiaside C which are isolated therefrom. The Youngia denticulata extract, a fraction thereof, or a compound isolated therefrom according to the present invention enhances activation of detoxifying enzymes in the liver, including quinone reductase(QR) of a marker enzyme for preventing cancer and an antioxidant response element(ARE) of an antioxidant responsive factor. The extract, fraction, or compound is not cytotoxic as well protects the liver from liver injury induced by ethanol or acetaminophen. Therefore, the composition according to the present invention can be useful in medicinal products and health foods for preventing cancer or improving liver function.본 발명은 이고들빼기(Youngiadenticulata) 추출물, 이의 분획물 또는 이로부터 분리한 화합물인 클로로제닉엑시드(Chlorogenic acid), 3,5-다이-오-카페오일퀴닉엑시드(3,5-Di-O-caffeoylquinic acid), 영지아사이드 A(Youngiaside A), 영지아사이드 B(Youngiaside B), 영지아사이드 C(Youngiaside C)로 구성되는 군으로부터 선택되는 하나 이상의 화합물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 암 예방용 약학적 조성물 또는 간 기능 개선용 약학적 조성물에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에 따른 이고들빼기 추출물, 이의 분획물 또는 이로부터 분리된 화합물은 암 예방 지표효소인 퀴논 리덕타아제(Quinone reductase, QR)와 항산화 반응인자인 항산화반응인자(Antioxidant response element, ARE)를 비롯한 간의 해독효소의 활성을 증진시키고, 세포 독성이 없을 뿐만 아니라, 에탄올과 아세트아미노펜에 의해 유도되는 간손상으로부터 간을 보호하므로, 본 발명에 따른 조성물은 암 예방 또는 간 기능 개선을 위한 의약품, 건강기능식품에 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
