PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily achieve the alignment for an examined eye.
SOLUTION: The tonometer comprises: a probe having an oscillator for applying ultrasonic waves to the examined eye and a vibration detecting sensor for detecting reflection waves from the examined eye an ultrasonic wave reflecting member for reflecting the incident waves output from the oscillator toward the examined eye and reflecting the reflection waves from the examined eye caused by the incident waves toward the vibration detecting sensor an arithmetic operation part for comparing the incident waves output from the oscillator and the reflection waves detected by the vibration detecting sensor and measuring the ocular tension of the examined eye by the arithmetic operation process and an anterior eye part observation optical system for observing the anterior eye part of the examined eye. The anterior eye part observation optical system is disposed in such a state that the probe is disposed outside an observation light path and that an observation optical axis is formed on an ultrasonic propagation path between the ultrasonic reflection member and the examined eye.
