PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately measure the ocular pressure of the eyes of a subject by detecting the vignetting of ultrasonic wave due to the eyelid or eyelash of the eyes of the subject.
SOLUTION: A non-contact ultrasonic tonometer includes: a probe for emitting the ultrasonic wave toward the eyes of the subject and detecting the ultrasonic wave reflected against the eyes of the subject a calculation part for processing an output signal from the probe and obtaining the ocular pressure of the eyes of the subject and also a detecting means for detecting the vignetting of the ultrasonic wave due to the eyelid or eyelash of the eyes of the subject, on the basis of the output signal from the probe. Then, the ocular pressure of the eyes of the subject is obtained by obtaining reflection ultrasonic wave to be detected in a state without the vignetting, on the basis of the detection result by the detecting means.
