In the present invention, provided are an aflatoxin production inhibitor, which includes a respiration inhibitor, and a method for preventing aflatoxin contamination by using the aflatoxin production inhibitor wherein the aflatoxin is well known for having the strongest carcinogenic substance or acute toxicity among natural substances. The respiration inhibitor has an outstanding activity of inhibiting the production of aflatoxin.
