An endoscope 1 includes an insertion section 2 extending to a distal end side from an operation section 3, a bending section 12 being disposed in the insertion section 2, a plurality of towing members 23 and 25 disposed in the insertion section 2 and in the operation section 3 from the bending section 12, a disk member 21 turnably provided in the operation section 3 and configured to turn to tow and loosen the plurality of towing members 23 and 25, the plurality of towing members 23 and 25 being suspended in an outer circumference of the disk member 21, operation members 4 and 5 turnably disposed in the operation section 3 and configured to turn the disk member 21 to bend the bending section 12, and a turning shaft 22 configured to turnably axially support the disk member 21 and the operation members 4 and 5 with respect to the operation section 3 in a position decentered to the distal end side by a predetermined distance d with respect to a center of the disk member 21 in an initial state in which the bending section 12 is linear.
