PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for specifying an enlarged observation region by a confocal endoscope, by which a position at which a minute observation image obtained by microscopic enlarged observation exists is easily and exactly specified by wide-field ordinary observation.
SOLUTION: After performing the microscopic enlarged observation through an observation window for enlarged observation 15 in such a state that fluorochrome discolored by the irradiation of a laser beam is scattered on a subject, the discolored region of the fluorochrome made by the irradiation of the laser beam during the microscopic enlarged observation is observed through an observation window for ordinary observation 12, whereby a microscopic enlarged observation region is specified.
