Disclosed are: a lighting environment controlfacility capable of controlling light to be irradiated oncultivated crops to an optimum condition for the growth ofthe crops, thereby activating a natural defense of thecrops against pests； a pest control method capable ofdetermining whether or not to control pests of cultivatedcrops and controlling the pests on the basis of thedetermination； and an intensive cultivation method. Thefacility is used for pesticide-free cultivation, andincludes a crop cultivation house which is formed of alight transmissive material and in which crops arecultivated, and a lighting control unit that controls thelight to be irradiated upon the crops in the cropcultivation house. The lighting control unit is adapted tocontrol spectral radiance (B1) of a wavelength range ofblue light, spectral radiance (R1) of a wavelength range ofred light, and spectral radiance (FR1) of a wavelengthrange of far-red light among the light to be irradiated onthe crops that are cultivated in the crop cultivation houseso as to be a predetermined condition.
