The present invention relates to a novel bacteriophage SA3 having killing activity specific to staphylococcus, in particular, Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis, an antibiotic composition, a feed additive composition, feed, a disinfectant, or a cleanser which comprises the bacteriophage, and a method for preventing and treating infectious disease, caused by staphylococcus, which comprise a step of administrating the bacteriophage to an individual. The method for preventing or treating infectious disease, caused by staphylococcus, by using bacteriophage SA3, bacteriophage SA3 has very high specificity to staphylococcus, in particular, Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis compared to chemical substances such as a conventional antibiotic. The bacteria are infected with the bacteriophage SA3 and the bacteriophage SA3 proliferates in the bacteria. Therefore, the bacteriophage SA3 has excellent lytic activity and is strong against physical and chemical stimulation. In addition, other hosts such as human beings, animals, plant and so on than bacteria are not infected with the bacteriophage SA3 of the present invention. Accordingly, the bacteriophage SA3 has a merit of solving a problem of bacteria resistant to antibiotics caused by abuse of antibiotics, a problem of remaining of antibiotics in food, and a problem of a wide host range.
