PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article capable of further relaxing an affection which is applied to a skin of an infant by an engagement hook of a fastening tape.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 10 comprises a fastening tape 90 comprising a base material 91 and an engagement sheet 92 adhered to the base material through an adhesive material. The fastening tape is folded in an expandable state so that, a fixed end part and a free end part are directed to opposite directions each other. The engagement sheet comprises a first area 92a and a second area 92b. The adhesive material forms a first adhesive area 100 for adhering the first area 92a of the engagement sheet to the base material, and a second adhesive area 102 for adhering the second area 92b of the engagement sheet to the base material.
