A package (10) for an elongated article has a sheet material with side (1, 6), upper (2, 5) and lower (3, 4) panels. The side panels are arranged to confront one another at a fin (20) and are at least partially adhered to one another at a longitudinal fin seal (28). The upper and lower panels extend from the fin to define a package body (12) which receives the elongated article. First and second end portions of the sheet material confront one another and are adhered to one another to form first and second end seals (16, 18) which enclose the interior cavity (14) of the package body. A starter line (36) is formed in the fin and extends from a free edge (24) thereof toward non-sealed portions (32) of the panels (1, 6) of the package.La présente invention concerne un emballage (10) destiné à un article allongé comportant un matériau en feuille à panneaux latéraux (1, 6), supérieurs (2, 5) et inférieurs (3, 4). Les panneaux latéraux sont conçus pour se faire face au niveau d'une ailette (20) et sont au moins partiellement collés l'un à l'autre au niveau d'un joint (28) d'ailette longitudinal. Les panneaux supérieurs et inférieurs s'étendent à partir de l'ailette pour délimiter un corps (12) d'emballage qui reçoit l'article allongé. Des première et seconde parties extrémité du matériau en feuille se font face l'une à l'autre et sont collées l'une à l'autre de sorte à former des premier et second joints (16, 18) d'extrémité qui enserrent la cavité (14) intérieure du corps d'emballage. Une ligne de départ (36) est formée dans l'ailette et s'étend à partir de son bord (24) libre vers des parties (32) non scellées des panneaux (1, 6) de l'emballage.
