PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide complement pathway inhibitors for treating ocular diseases.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to complement inhibitors for the treatment of ocular related conditions or diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, ocular angiogenesis (such as ocular neovascularization affecting choroidal, corneal, or retinal tissue), and other ocular conditions involving complement activation. The treatment of AMD includes both the dry and wet forms of AMD. The complement inhibitors of the present invention include, but are not limited to, those inhibiting the alternative complement pathway, such as Factor D, properdin, Factor B, Factor Ba, and Factor Bb, and the classical complement pathway, such as C3a, C5, C5a, C5b, C6, C7, C8, C9 and C5b-9.【課題】眼疾患を処置するための補体経路の阻害剤を提供すること。【解決手段】本発明は、加齢性黄斑変性症（ＡＭＤ）、糖尿病性網膜症、眼球血管形成（脈絡膜、角膜、又は網膜の組織に影響を与える眼球血管新生等）、及び補体活性化に関与する他の眼球病態等の眼に関連する病態又は疾患を治療する補体阻害剤に関する。ＡＭＤの治療は、乾性及び滲性の両型のＡＭＤを含む。本発明の補体阻害剤には、Ｄ因子、プロペルジン、Ｂ因子、Ｂａ因子、及びＢｂ因子等の第二補体経路、並びにＣ３ａ、Ｃ５、Ｃ５ａ、Ｃ５ｂ、Ｃ６、Ｃ７、Ｃ８、Ｃ９、及びＣ５ｂ－９等の古典的補体経路を阻害する阻害剤が含まれるが、これらに限定されない。【選択図】なし
