PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biological information acquisition device capable of highly accurately imaging a position and dimension of an absorber.SOLUTION: The subject information acquisition device includes: an acoustic wave detector 17 formed by arranging a plurality of elements for detecting an acoustic wave 16 generated from a subject and converting it into an electric signal movement control means 21 for moving the acoustic wave detector and a signal processing device 19 for reconfiguring subject information on the basis of the electric signal. The acoustic wave detector detects an acoustic wave at a first position and, after being moved by the movement control means, to a second position having an area overlapped with a partial area of the first position, detects the acoustic wave at the second position.
