To improve fit of an absorber and to suppress collapse of the absorber.SOLUTION: An absorbent article has an absorber 56 where at least short fiber-shaped absorptive materials are laminated and an absorption element 50 including a wrapping sheet 58 wrapping the absorber 56. The wrapping sheet 58 has a first part 58a covering a surface side of the absorber 56 and a second part 58b covering a reverse side of the absorber 56. Both side edges of the absorber 56 have recesses 71 entering into the inside in the width direction at a plurality of parts at intervals in the back and forth direction, and has a plurality of sheets including parts overlapping the recessed parts 71 on the reverse side of the absorber 56.
