Disclosed is a fusion protein comprising: domain (a) which is a functional fragment of the sequence of soluble hTRAIL protein, which fragment begins with an amino acid in the range from hTRAIL95 to hTRAIL121, inclusive, and ends with the amino acid at the position hTRAIL281, or a homolog of said functional fragment having at least 70% sequence identity, preferably 85% identity, and at least one domain (b) which is the sequence of a cytolytic effector peptide with an amphipathic alpha-helix conformation forming pores in the cell membrane, wherein the sequence of the domain (b) is attached at the C-terminus and/or N-terminus of domain (a).
