The catheter package comprises a container 1 with a re-closable opening 2, a plurality of catheters 10 in sealed envelopes 14 of flexible liquid impermeable material, a plurality of pouches 21 comprising a sheet 20 of absorbent material impregnated with a liquid antimicrobial sterilising medium contained in a sealed envelope, wherein the number of pouches is at least equal to the number of catheters. The container may comprise two separate compartments with separate closures. Also claimed is a method of intermittent urinary catheterisation comprising removing a catheter from the container, using it, returning it to the envelope, removing it again, wiping the catheter with the sheet of absorbent material and re-using the catheter.
