The invention relates to a method comprising the following steps consisting in: (a) placing an accessory on the users head, said accessory comprising at least one brightness calibration element including at least two contrasted zones (b) capturing an image of the users head on which the accessory has been placed, using an image capture device (c) determining the position of the image of the brightness calibration element of the accessory on the image captured in step (b) (d) determining a measured value of the brightness of at least one part of the image of the brightness calibration element or at least one part of the image located close to said brightness calibration element (e) modifying a parameter for adjusting the optical image-acquisition conditions of the image capture device as a function of the measured value such as to improve the contrast of the image of the contrasted zones of the calibration element (f) capturing another image with the modified parameter for adjusting the optical acquisition conditions and (g) determining the required geometric/physiognomic mounting parameter on the basis of said other image.Linvention concerne un tel procédé comportant les étapes suivantes : a) on place sur la tête du porteur un accessoire comportant au moins un élément de calibrage de luminosité comprenant au moins deux zones contrastées, b) on capture une image de la tête du porteur sur laquelle est disposée ledit accessoire grâce à un dispositif de capture dimage, c) on détermine la position de limage de lélément de calibrage de luminosité dudit accessoire sur ladite image capturée à létape b), d) on détermine une valeur mesurée de la luminosité dau moins une partie de limage de cet élément de calibrage de luminosité ou dau moins une partie de limage située à proximité de cet élément de calibrage de luminosité, e) on modifie un paramètre de réglage des conditions optiques dacquisition dimage dudit dispositif de capture dimage en fonction de cette valeur mesurée de
