The invention relates to an animal identification station, comprising means for automatically marking (52) animals, by attaching an identification mark to each animal. According to the invention, such a station also comprises the following means, activated to identify at least one of said animals: - sampling means (56) of a sample of said animal, - reading means (53) of at least one identifying information of said animal carried by said identification mark, - identification means (55) of said sample with at least one identifier obtained from said at least one identification information.
